He never put the QB under center.

You can't win at a high level that way. One thing I noticed was he set his backfield in to some sort of semi-pistol formation where they were setting up options for play action or wishbone activities so it's different than his spreads in the past or a spread like say, Texas Tech. I still don't think it's going to work against a good defense. One thing I remember seeing over and over again was Chris Todd just launching up prayer after prayer and Msu wasn't in posistion to make plays, or were there but couldn't make plays. And, we know Chris Todd is not that great of a Qb b/c he lost the job last year to Burns, a horrific qb, and their was a competition for it this year amoung poor qbs.

I guess the only thing you can really point to and say he's going down the wrong path is that Auburn can be easily recruited against for a QB and highschool spread QB's that don't care about playing professionally are very hard to evaluate. Hell, he wanted Burns to come to Arkansas based on his highschool abilities and now Burns isn't even in the 2 deep at QB.

Malzhan IS definatly in over his head.

You're right. Florida has sucked under Meyer.

and if I'm an Auburn fan that's the main thing I'm concerned with. Sure there are alot of highschool Qb's out there than operate out of that system but Malzhan has already shite the bed at his first major evaluation in Kodi Burns. He was on Arkasnas radio stating Burns could run his offense when he first took that Auburn job.

So obviously it's a system where something in the evaluation process leaves alot to be determined once they get on the SEC field. When you combine that with the fact that a prostyle coach like Richt, Or Nutt or Petrino is going to say, " the Nfl doesn't draft that system anymore" well if you are a legit pro style qb or tailback for that matter (cough cough Dyer) who do you want to play for? Probabaly not a highschool spread offense that the Nfl frowns scoffs.
