How many of you honestly think Nick Saban is unhappy at Alabama and will leave for another job before he retires?
I know it can be difficult for you guys to offer an honest opinion due to the joy you all get from stirring the Alabama fan base, but try to be objective and honest in your responses.

I don't think he's unhappy. I do think if he gets an offer from Notre Dame he'd consider. They have a fan base and alumni with deep pockets.

Follow the money. I give you 3-5 years, win or lose.

Why does it matter to you what LSU fans think about his future at BAMA?

Saban is happy and having a great time at Bama. I don't know personally but we share a mutual friend and that is what he says.

Honestly, I think he retires at Bama. Where else is he going to go? He realized he screwed up when he left LSU for Miami, so pros out. The only school that might tempt him away from Bama is LSU, and there's too much water under that bridge.

I was friends with several players that were on the 2003 and 2004 team. They told me Saban changed a lot after the National Championship. He seemed to not get any enjoyment out of coaching during the 2004 year.
A lot of players on the team were thinking about leaving early for the draft, quitting, or transferring. It was a "toxic" situation. The assistant coaches were all looking for new jobs even before Saban announced he was going to Miami.
I believe the same thing will happen at Bama. If it happens after a NC then I am sure you guys will be happy with that trade. I know I was.

i think he's happy. need to consider his age and the pace of his life and the fact he'sa micro manager (understatement). he's burning the candle at both ends and has for awhile and seemingly does not know how to relax. I say he'll coach at Alabama 'till he completely burns out and then retires with a major chunk of money. he also might be a candidate for poor health early. if he leaves bama, the sec loses and lsu/bama game loses some luster.

He will be there until he wins a NC. He might stay 3-4 years after that but not much IMO. Not because he doesn't like it or whatever, he is the kind of coach who relishes the challenge IMO. Once the program is back on top, he's not the kind of guy that gets off on keeping it there. Just the way I view him.

I wouldn't be shocked if he gives the NFL one more shot. His family especially his wife wasn't happy in Miami. I think his family had more to do with him leaving Miami than he disliking coaching in the NFL. He knew what the NFL was all about before he took the Miami job so I'm not buying the college > NFL excuse.
Not sure if an NFL owner would be willing to give him another shot though.

I dont know if he is unhappy but he is the kinda guy that always looks forward to the next challenge. So even if he loves Alabama he might go somewhere else just for the challenge.

$=happiness...end of story. he isn't going anywhere with that contract

I don't think the man is ever happy, period. He just happens to be in Tuscaloosa right now.Its nothing against the Tide,I just will be surprised if he stays there much longer. He's like Larry Brown.

Odd take. I guess we get as much "joy" as the Alabama fans here get from stirring the LSU fan base.

don't know and don't care.
Only thing I care about is LSU. As long as our program stays strong, we will win our share and thats all i care about.

I think Nick is the kind of guy that feels he needs a new challenge every few years. But, I do think that Bama is one of the few places that could pay him enough money that could quell those desires for new challenges (as long as he's still successful).
Given his age, and the proclivity he has already shown for being Nomadic, I really don't see how he retires at Bama.

I was surprised he took the Bama job to begin with... not because Bama is a bad place to be (it's a great opportunity)... but because of Saban's ego. Regardless of how well he does, he will never be "the coach" at Alabama. Some fans forget that Bear Bryant did lose games.
I thought Saban would have gone to WVU, but the timeframe just wasn't right. He's from West Virginia, and they play in the easiest BCS conference for making championship appearances. If he could have ended up at WVU, and if he could have routinely gotten Top 15 classes, I think he could have been in a National Championship game within 5 years... and would have undoubtedly retired as "the coach."
