"Tradition" is a two-sided coin at Bama. It also included 150 scholarships of which about only 2/3 were football-related, slush/personal funds for players and national championships awarded by everyone from Golden Flake to the local Tuscaloosa Ford dealership.

So everyone else competed on Mars?

Everyone worth their salt did what it took to win back in the day. We did it better than most, apparently.

Even if you were telling the truth- everyone competed under the same rules, or lack of rules, back then.
