If the LSU that played on Wed. night played the Alabama team that showed up for the Sugar Bowl, how badly would LSU have won?

I say by 2-3 TD's. Reason why? We played disciplined football and our players made good decisions allowing their talent to take over.

Why is that relevant? Because all of the talk about Alabama being so much better than us because they beat us in OT with Jarrett Lee throwing 4 pics has to be tempered by the way the teams finished the season. It should also affect the conversation for how these teams will do next year.

Most assume that Alabama is far and away the better team and will be next year as well. I would propose that you look at the bowl games and judge based off of that.

Thoughts?

Interesting question. The way each team played on each respective night, LSU would have won easily.

But...

Each team would have shown up that night, no doubt. I say toss-up. You'd think the Tide would blitz aggressively, and I'm inclined to think they would cause a few turnovers with that. I'd take the Tide by 10.

LSU defense matches up well with Bama b/c they are a running team. QB play clearly lost the game for LSU, so sure any improement in that area and LSU probably wins the game. FWIW.

It was only a matter of time before a thread like this popped up.

Remember after the Auburn game when you thought Jarrett Lee was your savior?

Umm find me these people. I think LSU is still by far and away more talented that Alabama.

Y'all forget that we fumbled into our own endzone and fumbled a kickoff that led to 7 points for y'all. Outside of last night and Tulane it's an arguable point that we played worse against LSU than any other opponent. And yes I'm including Florida.

Y'all didn't get our best either.

That will be argued over and over and again and again. Only thing that matters is what they scoreboard says. I'm sure you felt the same way about the 2007 LSU/Bama game.

Off of this subject let's get back to what I think it your original point...

No way Alabama is by far and away the better now or next year by any means. I will also argue with your last point as this is rarely the case.

It is good to have carry over from that bowl game and get a good feeling about the program but it rarely effects the next year.

Matter of fact, in comparable situations, i.e. coordinator turnover, just take a look at Auburn last year.

I think Bama would have taken LSU a whole lot more seriously and it would have been a fight to the end. Last one with the ball... wins.

Maybe Miles just needs 4 weeks between games and y'all will be kick arse. Looks like the time off had a negative impact on Alabama, well...that and the loss to Florida. LSU had a chance to play BAMA at home and lost...get over it. I will take 12-2 over 7-5 every year.

Roll Tide!!!

Enough of this mindless fricking nonse.se How bad would the Alabama of the Georgia game beat the LSU of the Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida games, etc etc?

This is the stupidest thing I've ever fricking seen on here, and I see a lot of stupid things.

Alabama is a better team than LSU. 11-2 > 8-5... they came into LSU's house and won. Period. No excuses about your QB.

BTW, Alabama doesnt run a fluky gimmick fricking option either. Also, who is to say Alabama would give LSU the special teams gifts that GT gave them?

Stupid Stupid stupid.
