I was on both sides of the rivalry in the 70’s and 80’s. Both sides were constantly turning in the other side for even the smallest of infractions. Both sides were always under some minor or major punishment. The SEC finally put their foot down and handled all of the petty stuff on their own.
What kind of petty stuff? Well, recruits could get money reimbursed for gas on an official visit to a game. ~$10. One coach handed out the $10 and then went back to the office to do the paperwork. Nope. Violation. Paperwork first, then the $10. One school turned in the other for this violation, but was guilty of the same thing, so they both lost 2 scholarships. It was always one dumb thing after another.
NCAA: Did the MSU coach hand you $10 on the field?
Recruit: yes, sir.
NCAA: Did Ole Miss hand you $10 on the field?
Recruit: No, sir. They handed me $20.

Frick that, he covered up child rape
I doubt any of us will ever know exactly what happened. But it looks more like the AD and school president were the ones that actually covered it up. JoePa did at least pass the allegations along to them per protocol, and they decided to ignore them. The NCAA has already restored the wins they stripped from JoePa over the scandal.

Trying to change the past is unbiblical and a sin.

we just had a ruling that Reggie Bush can get his trophy back because pay for play should've been legal.
We did? A "ruling?"
The Heisman Trust just decided to do it.

From what I understand Alabama would be around the 1000 win mark if we used on the field results.
From what I understand, Alabama would likely inflate their revised win mark to over 2,000 and claim another 50 national titles as a result.

I will start with Mississippi State it has been said that we have a losing record all time. This is actually false. It is 603-579-37 excluding the NCAA Forfeits from a discounted textbook for a player(yes that's the documented actual reason).
tell the entire story. After the NCAA ruled on the eligibility of the player, State got a ruling from a Mississippi Court that barred that NCAA decision and it backfired.
But, I have no issue with forfeited games being re-instated.

Ole Miss 65
State 49
Ties 6
That is the on the field series record. The vacated/forfeits need to be eliminated and just let the record be whatever has happened on the field.

Since we're righting past wrongs, I'd like to submit that the national champion should have always been awarded after bowl games and thus Arkansas should be the 1965 AP recipient.

Somehow, aggy will claim another championship out of this and put it on their stadium wall.

1977 Kentucky football team are now Co-SEC Champions
1993 Auburn football team are now SEC Champions...since were undefeated including a win over Florida who won the SECCG

With the current climate of CFB being the wild-west, it seems stupid to hold forfeits and vacated wins for stuff that is pretty commonplace now. let the on-field results speak for themselves. it makes a much cleaner record book. "oh your team won, but because of things that weren't legal then but are now encouraged, that win is a loss."
