They absolutely make other considerations but the main motivation for many players, especially in the late portal, is money.
I don't know about Barrow so much but Williams was absolutely commanding a huge price tag, Texas didn't even want to pay it.

We didn't want to pay it either, but our coach didn't flat out say we needed DTs heading into the portal (essentially upping the price right then and there) and then basically call the player a mercenary when he goes elsewhere. It's as if BK wasn't quite prepared.
