quote:nobody is going to be jumping out big in front of bama this year. Deboer is an offensive genius, and now he's got top tier talent level that he's never had the luxury of before. He took Washington from 107th to 7th n scoring offense year 1. He took Fresno State from 58th to 36th then to 26th. He took Indiana from 88th to 42nd in one season. Everywhere he coached as OC or head coach the offense dramatically improved (incidentally, same with Womack, every defense he's had as DC or head coach improved significantly year to year).

Bama was 24th in scoring in 2024 with the least creative offense anyone has ever ran, better than Tennessee despite a horrendous scheme. Expect bama to be top 5 in offense.
Defense might be a problem early dur to losses to the portal
Edit: preemptively, we know it was deboer and not grubb. Deboer was the OC at Fresno State 2017-2018, he took them from 125th in 2016 scoring to 77th in 2017 then 26th in 2018. He left in 2019 to be OC at Indian and grubb took over as OC at Fresno State in 2019, and without deboer there the offense dropped from 26th to 58th, deboer came back as head coach with grub as OC and they went back to to 26th by year 2. The only time grubb was a power 5 OC he immediately followed deboer and they got worse, then deboer came back and they got good again.

Well, that's a stretch, even at Bama (Darby up the middle comes to mind).
But, to be fair, it's hard to be creative when the OL played horribly most of the year and getting even a consistently "decent" snap was a victory.
I think Bama is in good hands. Should be a fun year.

So you are telling me he's going to be an instant upgrade over Saban's staff for your offense?
He had one of if not the best veteran QBs in the nation last year at Washington who was very adapted to his system. Kind of like Heupel in 2022 only he had a deeper roster overall and played in a much easier conference.
Next year is going to be a huge down year for both the gumps and LSU.
I think because of this, Texas and Oklahoma will make some big noise and their fans will be shite talking like crazy their first year here. They still won't win anything of significance because of one if the three: Tennessee, UGA and/or Ole Miss.
On paper, i have Texas and OU over Bama and LSU by 10 plus each if it's a neutral field.
Bama won't finish in the top 5 SEC teams next year. LSU will be behind them though despite that. Both of you are in big time transition seasons next year for obvious reasons.
