I can certanly envision that now. Not fartetched at all and that is sad.

Why? Texas A&M couldn't win anything big during those years.

And, don’t be surprised when Sankey ends up the czar of CFB by default. His contract was renewed for this.

That means superconferences have some leverage to restructure sanity back to college football. But, this thing hasn't gotten bad enough yet. The NCAA will have to literally implode to bring all these political nitwits to their senses to finally act.

We just had Butch Jones, Dooley and Pruitt as our coach.

Do you really think Vols are worried about this?

We were dead already for almost two decades. It has been VERY ugly for us before Danny White and Heupel took over.

Now we are just happy to he headed back to the top so let's go out with a bang.

I thought the last two years of CFB have been pretty interesting all across the board though. You guys really are crying a lot over it imo.

It's always been a farm system for the NFL. The biggest thing that sucks is the portal though.

Price of a ticket is ridiculous, everything around the game is depressingly corporate and now if you can brag on your team, it's basically that you have richer boosters than the next guy.

What exactly will there be to enjoy about college sports in the years to come?

The pageantry of it is going away. These kids don’t care about school pride anymore. It’s an all about me society. I hate it

First time I’ve agreed with Whiskey….this portal nonsense has to be reigned in at some point.

This is a result of the nfl becoming a multi billion dollar industry. Our population has become increasingly stupid to lapping all the entertainment up. Leads to the mess of cfb and all these clowns on espn talking about “narratives” and arguing over who is the top 5 player in x league like their life depends on it while making millions, idiocracy

I cut the cord attaching me to football a few years ago. The last 2 Fall Seasons have been amazing.
I’m not on here much anymore & that’s probably a good thing. I still read tRant but can’t get into the poo flinging anymore, lol

People have been saying "its about to get ugly" about a lot of things related to our society and so on.

And they aren't wrong.

Just throw this in the stack.

I wouldn’t be sad if football (and basketball) fell off, promotes a certain culture in our society that is not ideal

Restructuring of AD’s needed to happen yesterday. Many got fat and happy with TV money and added a lot of useless positions.

I think it might go opposite of what most think. We will likely see more parity than ever before.

The good programs will always be good but were able to hoard players similar to before scholly caps were in place. Now any team can beat them out for players using collectives or big donors.

Before, big donors gave money to school to be used as seen fit. Now they can chip in to buy players. Thats going to create more parity.

Gone will be the undefeated days. With super conferences the ones at top will have 2-3 losses with 1 loss being exceptional. Its possible they start looking more like NFL where they have the best cost structure in all of pro sports and get the best ratings by far. The more college teams having a chance at playoffs will invest more fans.

Not saying its good or bad rather thats where its headed imo.

One note, if the NCAA and TV agree on their lawsuits, players will have to sign contracts which require them to play bowl games. And can’t leave for 2 years. That would shore up the portal issues as well.

It will be interesting to watch.

If these players want to be paid employees, then bowl opt-outs need to be a thing of the past. Sue them for breach of contract.

College football is getting better now. The days of the blue bloods hoarding most of the best players are coming to an end. NIL and the portal are leveling the playing field, and that is a good thing. And players who are the reason schools rake in a fortune should be allowed to get an allowance, so to speak. And it's not costing the schools a penny. Onward.
