Semantic Tiger 2.0 which of these do you believe I am wrong about? Apparently several if not all based on your previous reply. But specifically, what below is generally regarded as false?
Socrates, who was one of Aristotles main influencers, was put on trial and put to death by the Greek government for his philosophical and scientific beliefs.
Being put on trial and put to death for your philosophical and scientific beliefs by your government qualifies as persecution.
Pythagoras is credited with determining the Earth is not flat.
Aristotle is credited with determining the Earth is a sphere.
Copernicus is credited with determining the Earth is not the center of the universe.
Some people did in fact believe Columbus would sail off the edge of the Earth (hint, this whole thread is about who still today believe this).
Thank you for pointing out that you should be ignored in the future.

Someone needs to tell me why flights from Japan to Hawaii are shorter than Alabama to Hawaii if the world is flat. Otherwise my map is broke and Japan marked in the wrong spot.

Flat Earthers don't think that these days.
They think the world is like a cylinder, flat and round on top like a disk. They believe Antarctica wraps around the entire world.
That Antarctica is off limits because people would travel there and see the wall. It's that wall that keeps all the water and such inside the earth, so you would never sail off the edge.
It's all kinds of weird crap.

I don't understand how this mindset is possible. Literally the fact that people fly to different countries in different directions proves the world's not flay. It's odd
Hell you dont even need to do that. Strap a Go Pro to high altitude balloon. A group of high school students was able to do it surely flat Earthers could do it

Mostly proving people 2000+ years ago were smarter than many modern people who have access to the worlds knowledge in the palm of their hand.

With so much easily verifiable information at our fingertips, not to mention simply observing things during a flight, it’s insane to me that a rational person could believe the world is flat.

If it is flat why don’t ships fall off the edge?
Do they also believe the sun rotates around the earth?

15 vs 19 people downvoted this. Why? Do we have more flat earthers on this board that we don’t know about?

What if we are all wrong and it is a cube?

A lot of hoopla, nonsense swifties think the earth has a drain pipe below it so when the water runs off it’s flat surface it just gets put back into our fish tank. Seems most people outside of chexmix think logically but he is an barner so it’s easy to feel sorry for him. He thinks the Smokey’s is a place to go get high.

You have to realize if you're talking to a flerf you're talking to someone who is not spatially competent and functionally math illiterate.
The average flat earth thinks the sun is a 30-40 mile wide not physical object 3k-5k miles above the surface, but that the physics of light is also somehow magic enough to make it appear to set. They cannot be convinced that using the known ie real physics of light their magic non-object light bulb couldn't even get to within 15 degrees angular distance to the damn horizon.

A lot of terrible English and talk here but notice that all you want to do is talk about the SUN when the entire issue we are debating is the EARTH
Makes me wonder why you are trying to change the subject seems desperate for some reason
Hmm
