So we can expect similar results as the Muss era under NIL or Cal’s time during NIL? Because Cal on the court during NIL (despite very successful recruiting that kept him from being fired) looks like a downgrade.

Y’all talking shite about Cal’s coaching would take his record at Kentucky at your school in a heartbeat.

In the NIL era Barnes and Tennessee clearly passed Cal and Kentucky. Why would we want to go backwards? Cals greatest asset was his flagrant disregard for the rules, and that has been mitigated.

Kentucky didn’t fire Cal, he left for Arkansas on his own. Cal could’ve coached at Kentucky for years more if he wanted.

I don't see how a HOF coach even if he is washed up is a downgrade from the previous coach that at age 60 has never been to a final four and has already hit his ceiling.

I don't know what to expect with Cal as I had no idea what Muss would do here when he was hired.

I expect Cal to stay here no longer than five years and the only expectation is to get to a Final Four. He won't have to deal with Kentucky like expectations here as Arkansas don't have that type of history .

Compare Cal in the NIL era to Muss in the NIL era. When Cal could cheat instead of coach he was much better BUT since that is no longer a factor you need to look at the 2 in the NIL era only.

Wait til they see the many forms of Cal

Magi-Cal where he disappears after the Game when they lose to a team, they shouldn’t have lost to

Swaggy Cal- when he beats a good team

Mysterious Cal- when he doesn’t call a timeout when you blow a double digit lead but still has three at the end of the game.

Halftime Adjustment Cal- never saw him

Recruiter Cal- as good as it gets

Compassionate Cal- raises money for victims of natural disasters

Under the Bus Cal- blames loss on players. Says they are young.mystery why we had a young team

Calzone- hates to play one but gets beat by them.

Ranting Cal- gets thrown out of game. Assistant coaches win game he was losing

SEC tournament Cal- hates it so doesn’t stay long.

He is a mixed bag. You will have NBA talent. They will look spectacular some games and lose games to teams with 1/10 the talent. You will win twenty plus games most years but there may be a clunker in there too. Enjoy

I think the problem is the NIL and portal has closed the gap between the traditional basketball schools and schools that lacked history. Yet no one is giving credit to these schools as if they suck and don't have any talent.

It wasn't long ago that the rant gave criticism to Muss for having easy paths to the Elite Eights, he should have beaten these wannabe schools by larger margins.

First NCAA tournament game against Colgate, Arkansas got down by double digits and it looked as Arkansas was going to lose but got on a run and won the game.

Arkansas the next game needed a missed Texas Tech layup to avoid OT.

Oral Roberts was a missed three point shot from winning the game in the final seconds.

Arkansas only beat Vermont 75-71.

Only beat New Mexico State 53-48.

Beat a Kansas team without Bill Self and needed a monster game from Devo Davis just to beat them by one point.

Arkansas could easily lose these games and would be in the same spot as Cal right now.

The NCAA tournament now is tougher than ever before and doesn't matter what big name you have on the jersey, you can lose to anyone. The days of putting it on cruise control is over.

Not arguing with what you are saying because you are right on all points. We're any of those close wins against #14 and #15 seeds? Because at least you won.

As I have said in multiple of these threads, it's a win/win for both fan bases. You have reason to hope for good things and so do we

Oh yeah? You saying Kentucky fired Cal? You really think Cal left Kentucky buyout money to just make less at Arkansas? Dumbass.

Are we really still pretending this wasn’t mutually beneficial for both Arkansas and Kentucky? Cal wasn’t going to meet expectations for next season and got out of dodge before things could get worse.

We didn’t fire Tubby either but everybody knows he moved on for a reason.

Fire? No, we were glad when he decided to leave tho. He left the buyout money because the walls were closing in.

I wish him the best. He did us and y'all both a favor.
