With a “ Do not contact “ so he knows where he is going

That’s a strange move considering he’s the clear leader at center going into fall, unless he’s just wanting to get back closer to home??
Will definitely leave us thin at center.

If he's leaving then it makes it pretty clear he was only the leader at center during spring because of Brailsford being out.

He wasn’t the clear leader. Not sure why anyone thought he was, Brailsford didn’t transfer to ride pine and even without spring he already knows the line calls/offense

What a bust those Brockermeyer bros. were.

yeah…maybe “clear leader” was a bad choice of words, but Brockermeyer was in a good place having held it all thru spring and Brailsford having not even practiced much with the team. Just seems strange that he walks, when we’re thin there & he has a real shot at winning that starting spot.

Entering the portal with “do not contact” when you’re a solid 4/10 is crazy.
Reminds me of my Tinder days if I was like “don’t call me. I’ll call you”.

Beat me to it. Talk about a double recruiting bust considering the hype.

Not the clear leader? Uh, yeah, he was. Brailsford didn’t even play and for all we know, he may never play again. I find it a little hard to believe that Brailsford was “guaranteed” the starting job over Brockermeyer when Brailsford has practiced very little.
Hell, true freshman Joseph Ionata may be the starter this Fall. He looked pretty good in the A Day game but it’s a tall order thrusting a true freshman into the starting center job.

He’s the starter that’s why Brock is leaving.

DeBoer downplayed Brailsford's absence. He was adamant that he would be back. He said Brailsford had done nothing wrong. Someone associated with BOL insinuated that the issue was a problem with some of his transfer credits. I guess he had to straighten that out before he returned. The guy was one of the top centers last year. I imagine Brockermeyer doubted he could take the starting job.

This isn’t a surprising development if this is a month ago. It was surprising that Brockermeyer challenged for the job. We know that Brailsford is talented. We expected him to start there next year when he transferred in. Now, missing most of the spring doesn’t help his transition to Alabama but clearly the offensive coaching staff knows his ability and understanding of the offense.
I am certain that was iterated to Brockermeyer in post spring interviews. He had not won the job yet. And that being the case, he felt his best chance to start was going elsewhere. Good luck to him.

It only means he already has a landing spot. Likely TCU.

I believe last year Brailsford started at guard and then moved to center. He did extremely well. He knows Deboer's offense. DeBoer said he had been working out on his own and would be ready when he returned. He didn't seem the least bit worried about him.

Brailsford didn't practice this Spring, so I don't think Brockermeyer really challenged anyone for the job. Joe Ionata and William Sanders were the only other guys playing Center this Spring. Regardless, I thought Brockermeyer looked pretty good at A-Day.

I wish them both all the success in the world moving forward.
I also don’t think anyone in the football building is that concerned given that he couldn’t beat out one of the biggest colossal failures at C in the modern history of college football last year.
I mean think about what we saw at C last year. The coaches thought he was worse than that.
Let that sink in.

Brockermeyer bros managed to somehow be worse than the Love bros. But basically they were the same guys.

If any of you have Dalcourts cell number then give him a call and ask him to come on back. We were just kidding with him about his performance.
