Not really. When they win a natty they typically follow it up with a last place finish. Sometimes back to back last place finishes

91 won CWS- 92 lost in regional (before supers was a thing)
93 won CWS - 94 went to CWS
96 won CWS - 97 won CWS
97 won CWS - 98 went to CWS
2000 won CWS - 2001 - went to supers
2009 won CWS - lost in regionals
2023 won CWS - TBD
