Also assuming Hurley and Donovan aren’t realistic options.

Thoughts?

The question is not who has been like Little Ricky and Cal, it is who is the future?

Pitino would probably take the job at UK if offered.

Seriously, if Drew turns then down, I'm sure Donovan is next

How about giving former Kentucky great Travis Ford a look. I mean he's got an overall record 469-355. He'd love to come back home. What an under the radar hire it'd be & would restore order in Bluegrass Country.

Heard Today that UK does not really have people on the NIL collective stuff and that Cal was on his own. If any great coach is serious about UK he will need Mitch to answer how the collective is going to work and who is going to be in charge.

I don’t know how many times this has to be debunked but that’s simply not true whatsoever.

Cal pushed long time Kentucky donors out. Our biggest contributors. He didn’t want them to have any input at all on anything. So he brought in his own donors that he could manipulate and do what he wanted with their money.

All NIL deals had to go through the coaching staff first and not UK. Several times the players didn’t even know they had been offered NIL deals by reputable companies that had already been set up with the football team. Antonio Reeves was offer $100k and the coaches never even told him about it.

THE biggest booster at UK came back into the fold merely hours after Cal did his farewell video and said whatever he’s getting at Arkansas(for NIL) I will beat for whoever we hire. That’s how bad people wanted cal gone. It’s not sour grapes because he went to Arkansas. It’s because he won’t let anyone help him do his job.

That was one of the changed that was coming. Apparently it was a very disorganized mess and that this was going to move from cal controlling it to the athletic dept. One of the reasons he wanted to leave.

Until late last year we did not have an official NIL collective. There were several private groups running collectives. We started one exclusively for football and announced one for basketball at the end of last year.

So guys were getting NIL but it was from individual collectives. Basically our AD hated the idea of NIL so we were very late to formalizing it

Yep. I think Samford has a good team returning so he'll have another solid season. If so, someone will grab him next year. Hopefully it's not auburn after Bruce tanks in the first round against Princeton next year.
