Scott Drew is a solid coach. Certainly better than BCG. You put him in there with Kentucky and he may really blossom.
The truth about hiring is that you just never know. Matching what Cal did his first six years isn’t going to happen. Exceeding what Cal did his last four years is a low bar.

Yep. If he makes it to the round of 32 first year it's an improvement

He’ll certainly have more resources at Kentucky, though. So, we’ll see. I guess I’m just a little surprised at the support he’s getting.
Did you watch the Kentucky - Oakland game ? Where it took 25 minutes, literally - until 5 minutes into the second half - for Kentucky to quit pounding it into bigs that can't score and instead start going through the bigs and then out to open three shooters ?
That's the thing about Drew. That's the thing about JUST ABOUT ANY DAMN COACH. Calipari is that bad.

Hurley: Highly doubtful but I would call him first and make him refuse a solid offer.
Donovan: Maybe, but the game has changed since he has been in the college ranks. Also, not sure he would come back.
Drew: The most likely choice. I personally think if an offer was made worth his while he would take it.

UCONN is a better job. These are just the crazies talking.

They're going to give him more salary and more resources, UCONN's AD already said so. And Hurley isn't going to leave the Death Star he's already seeing blossom just to go build another one in Lexington.
It would be criminal if Barnhart didn't make the call ... and also a waste of time if the call was more than 15 minutes of "congrats, you're not interested, but you know I had to ask".

Donovan - He’s an NBA coach now
For how much longer, though? If Bulls don't make it past the play-in, is he guaranteed to be brought back?
Would he get a 3rd opportunity to be head coach in NBA?
The issue with Donovan is that Kentucky would have to wait a few weeks that they may not be willing to wait to see if he's even available.

The issue with Donovan is that waiting a few weeks means the transfer portal is closed and Kentucky won't even have a full roster. It can't be Donovan - unless we walks away from the Bulls now. Which would be career suicide.

Hurley - I'd be surprised. Seems like an east coast kinda guy.
Drew - I think he's distinct possibility. He'll do well at UK
Donovan - staying pro

What about bill murrays son?
He’s the brain behind operations at UConn
I think he will make a good head coach one day, but Kentucky isn't going to hire an assistant to be their new HC. I think the fan base would riot.
Kentucky views basketball much like Bama/LSU/Auburn view football. When was the last time any of those three schools (outside of LSU elevating O from interim to full time) went out and hired a coordinator as head coach?

New list for the job
Darrell walker little rock
Billy Gillespie unemployed
Eddie Sutton dead
One of the 3 will take the job I'm sure. Probably Eddie again
