As fast as Holliday was, I think Xavier Carter was faster. He just didn't play that much, as he swapped to track fulltime very early on.

The play that convinced me was late in a game, Flynn was in at QB. I can't remember the season, or the opponent, but it was a day game at Tiger Stadium. It was one of those "sure let's frick around and try it" plays, where you send a WR on a fly route and your backup QB just throws it as far as he could.

That defense, which had been dealing with Dwayne Bowe and Buster Davis, was simply not prepared to deal with what happened. Carter's route was just "sprint as fast as you can", and he shot through the secondary like a rocket. Was probably 10+ yds past the safeties, who were reasonably deep to start, when he caught it in stride. I don't think the corner even tried after about 20 yds, he was burned so bad.

It was one of those rare instances where the deep safety probably should have lined up 25 yds deep, and faced the other direction if he wanted to make a play.
