Billy Donovan is the guy!

I am hearing a ton of chatter about who should be the next bball coach for BBN, and even though I totally understand the interest in these potential hires, I feel that Billy Donovan should be in the drivers seat.
Jay Wright is not leaving his current role working in television, so it is best to let that pipe dream go.
Dan Hurley is a northeast guy. He has coached at Wagner, Rhode Island, and now UCONN. Not to mention the legendary status of his father in that area. I understand people will say that Pitino was a northeast guy and made the move to Kentucky, but these two men are different people.
I like Scott Drew and have no complaints with that hire. I have heard he is unhappy with his pay at Baylor, but it is just hard to imagine him actually leaving.
Brad Underwood is a fine coach, but I don't think he is on the same level as the others mentioned. He has done a nice job at Illinois, but I think Kentucky can do better.
Billy Donovan was an assistant at Kentucky under Pitino, so he has firsthand knowledge of what it takes to be the coach in this program. He built Florida, a program with very little tradition prior to his taking over, into a back to back national champion. He also doesn't get enough credit for how good his Florida teams were even after the national championship years.

Listen, I have enough problems with our baseball team right now, so I do not need this shite.

I forgot about Jamie Dixon. That is a solid hire, however I am pretty sure he is a TCU grad, so he may like being home.

Does Donovan want to come back and deal with the college game in his state
Seems like he's made enough money to do whatever he wants in life

Exactly, TCU grad.
What he did at Pitt..and now at TCU.. with zero resources.. impressive. He's damn good. Probably a name that will not come up. He's competed and won against Baylor, Houston, Kansas..Iowa St..the best of the Big12...gets to the the Tournament every year...at TCU...give him UK resources

Looks like Oats won't be involved which is good news for BAMA. Donovan at Kentucky would be scary as hell.

This needs it's own thread coming from Trilly...Oats staying at Bama

Worth taking a shot with Billy
Wright literally retired because of NIL/portal
Hurley’s next stop would probably be nba
Underwood is a good coach but a dickhead. Even looks like a dickhead
Drew worth a shot. Might be the right time with him and the big 12 sort of unstable.

Donovan isn't leaving the NBA to return to college.

Billy Donavan would be a great hire so as a Gator fan I hope it doesn't happen.

Scott Drew caught lightning in a bottle during the 2021 COVID season when many teams weren’t playing with all of their guys. He hasn’t done anything since. He isn’t going to cut it.
Throw the bag at Hurley and Wright. If both decline, go after Donovan or Oats.

I do not see that on Trilly Donovan's X/twitter stream. Where did you find that?

The idea that Travis Ford would be the hire after doing an average job and being fired at both Oklahoma State and Saint Louis is nonsense.
