I see you didn't watch the game. No one who watched it would have had a different reaction than those quotes in your OP.

Just to review: After UCONN's big man pulled their first foul of the second half, he took the ball and threw it, HARD, and in anger, at the basketball goal. I guess it's fortunate that he actually hit the backboard because it is quite possible he could have hit a fan with that.

Somehow, this did not result in a technical foul being assessed, and the appropriately assessed reach over foul remained UCONN's only foul in the second half for quite some time.

ETA: To be clear, you can't let refs decide the game so Bama has to be able to overcome things like this if we're going to keep getting back to this level. That's what great teams do. But to claim the refs weren't awful is just homer-level nonsense.
