Most if not all of the players on the field were ejected simply for heading to the dugout.
That will be State's narrative, but it is unlikely true.
I think they will eject everyone they can identify that ran into the batter's circle, even if the intent was to defuse the situation. If all of State's players had headed straight to the dugout, only the catcher would be gone.
But a lot of State players, and some coaches, ran into the batter's circle to hold back Long and at least one or two Georgia players who were getting fired up. Might have been a nice thought, but it likely got them ejected.
But to say they were ejected "simply for heading to the dugout" is flat-out incorrect.

Dakota Jordan ran straight to the dugout and was ejected.
And #9 for Georgia was most definitely in the batters circle egging it on. He was not ejected and was the one who hit the homer in the top of the 9th

I think it's actual fact. Only 2 players who played the entire came came back out on the field. Seven of Mississippi State's players of the nine on the field were ejected..
How can a player on the field be ejected for leaving the bench when he is already on the field?
MSU played the rest of the game with Stephen and fellow pitcher Luke Dotson in the outfield, and Hujsak and David Mershon were the only 2 starters on the field.
