I'm not a Doctor, but the article and comments on Battery Power are in full blown panic mode.

The consensus from there is best case: inflammation and he'll be shut down for 2-3 months.

Worse case: he'll need his 2nd TJ surgery and might be ready after the 2025 ASG.

I don't know shite about frick, but I'm hoping it is tendinitis and will just need a few weeks off.

Bryce Elder is sitting in AAA and is available if Strider goes on the DL. If that's the case, hopefully Elder is 2023 1st Half Elder and not 2nd half Elder.

Seen Trevor Bauer's name thrown around. I think he is a hell of a pitcher, and has tremendous upside. With that being said, I think he'd be a horrible fit for the Braves clubhouse. I think he'd have the opposite effect Morton has with the younger guys like Fried and Elder.

Anyways, I'm welcome to hearing how I'm wrong, Strider is going to get his arm amputated by the time I go to work on Monday, and Bauer will be better than Warren Spahn, Phil Niekro, Glavine, Smoltz, and Maddux combined for the Braves.

It's very concerning. I'm mentally prepared for the worst on this one.

The only not totally debilitating about this is AJ Smith and our first round pick from last year apparently pitched at each level in his first season and led the Braves in strike outs or strike outs per nine or something. Either way they’re both very + players but yeah man this just takes the fun away before it can begin. Maybe Anderson can find his old self a bit coming back and Ynoa imo is a complete unknown

His loss impacts the playoffs. We need a true stud dominant big dick ace and Strider was within a breaths touch of reaching it this year.

We'll see what the pitching market holds come the deadline.

Max is going to have to hold it down. And he will.

I liked that kid from the White Sox that we faced last week. Great stuff.

Last time Acuna went down for the season, we won the World Series!

That's because other guys could hit. This has quite literally been the worst offense in baseball for a month. They're 30th (out of 30) in MLB in runs scored since April 26.

From this Athletic article:

LINK /

Metrics say they’re overdue

Despite their struggles, the Braves led MLB in hard-hit percentage (44.5) and average exit velocity (90.4 mph) before Sunday, two metrics in which they also led a year ago, when they topped most major offensive categories including 307 homers to tie baseball’s single-season record.

They are 16th in homers this season with barely one per game (59 in 57 games), including four for Acuña in 49 games before his torn ACL, and three homers (and 19 RBIs) for Riley in 44 games. Riley averaged 36 homers and 99 RBIs in the past three seasons.

According to various metrics, the Braves have been unlucky, including an NL-leading 53 outs on balls hit at 105 mph or above before Sunday. Harris was the NL individual leader with 14.

“Yeah, we’re in a good spot,” Harris said. “Like I’ve said, we’re gonna turn this around pretty soon and (Saturday) was a good experiment to show we’re coming back.”

“I feel like that’s kind of the name of the game for us, for whatever reason,” said Austin Riley, who doubled and had an RBI single Saturday, then doubled and lined out twice Sunday. “But you’ve just got to keep squaring up balls, and we’re doing that.”

They'll turn it around. Have faith!
We're doing the opposite of last year where we absolutely dominated the regular season and then started blowing arse late.

We're gonna get in a big hole but dig out of it, make the playoffs and go off. Faith!
