Well, I can't tell you the acceptance rate at Auburn from 7 or 8 years ago. I can only share what it's been like the last couple of years with my kid college hunting.
From an SEC standpoint she applied and received scholarships from LSU Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Alabama - she was accepted into Auburn but did not receive a scholarship - and this was a HS student with a 4.4 GPA and 30+ on her ACT

Kids around here who can’t get into Georgia and Bama usually end up at AU or UT. And the truly academically challenged end up at SC
