I think some or most of what you just said is correct or plausible. I think it's comical reading some of all the other stuff posted. The game has been steadily changing since it was first played 100+ years ago. It will always change and I'm sure every generation was worried sick with every major development

It’s the fact that we suck year after year and the uaa/admin has no interest in improving the on field product but seems solely interested in stadium concessions

UF will be fine long term. Success for most programs that have been a top 25 program All-time come in cycles. UF is due and it's just a matter of time before they hit. It takes the right coach.
One thing I've learned recently is that a coaches ability to develop talent is key. 90% of today's college coaches have been trying to win by simply "out recruiting" others. A small percentage develop well. Mizzou was a prime example years ago. They could develop but never land a top 10 class year in and year out.
UF has been trying to out recruit like most coaches AND their coaches don't develop. It's been A&M's issue for many, many years

During the pre-NIL era foley and the UAA explicitly said they “weren’t getting into the facilities arms race” and while Bama UGA and lsu were getting water fountains in their weight room the uaa was showing 1980s soviet style gyms and dorms and that hurt recruiting
Foley used to be a big facilities guy.
I've sat in meetings before where he outlined a plan to move swimming & diving to a new facility. Build a brand new basketball arena. There was a massive plan to overhaul athletic facilities.
Then Machen came in and didn't like the optics of spending so much on athletics, specifically facilities and severely limited what the UAA could do. Even forced the department to take budget cuts during the recession despite making more money than ever.
I know everyone likes to dump on Foley and I'll get labeled some UAA lover, but the president ultimately sets the course for the athletic department. What they say goes.

Because Mullen was supposed to be a developer that sucked at recruiting
Truth was he wasn’t that good at either

It’s obvious that your are new to the SEC. Florida, other than a good run during the 90s and a couple of years in the 2000s has always been a mediocre program. The last decade plus has seen them returning to their rightful place. A mid to lower level SEC program. An entitled, impatience fan base, hasty and poor coaching hires and no clue about how to best use their resources hasn’t helped their cause one bit. All that money for a stadium kitchen when their facilities look like 1970 and a bidding war is now essential to land top recruits. How stupid!

We did get some new facilities in the past year or so that part isn’t accurate any more but yeah the money for the stadium kitchen when we’re getting arse raped in the bidding wars is very very stupid!

Since there are really no rules now when it comes to recruiting it’s gonna take a semi truckload of money to land a top recruiting class.
Not to mention the need for world class stadiums and facilities. Why did anyone think an extremely expensive stadium kitchen was going to improve the product on the field? Wasn’t the cost of that kitchen more than what y’all spent on building your indoor practice facility a few years ago?
UF needs some new people making financial decisions asap

What does Uaa stand for ?
Basically it’s what a normal school would call their “athletic department “ because that’s what it is

Yes, you are completely right the stadium kitchen is not going to improve the product in the field one bit because the UAA a.k.a. our athletic department has no interest in improving the product on the field. They rather nickel and dime the fans for every penny, while also having the fans footing the bill for the players nil
Basically, they want the fans to fund for the nil through the crappy sketchy collective and then have them watch a losing team at the swamp while charging the fans $25 for a footlong hot dog with bacon bits on it made in their shiny new stadium kitchen so they cut out all the third-party vendors and keep all the money in house
Posted on 4/4/24 at 3:56 pm to theCAW
Earlier you said $19 for a hot dog and I thought that was ridiculous, but I didn't know it was a footlong with bacon bits. That's different.
Posted on 4/4/24 at 3:59 pm to deeprig9
And I thought the concessions at Sanford Stadium were high. $19 for a hot dog - with or without bacon bits. That’s crazy!!

My old college roommate is convinced someone who is a rich alum of a rival school is paying off uaa so they will make horrible decisions. Lol!

Remember when Gator alum Darren Heitner collaborated with John Ruiz to sabotage the Gator Collective and NIL initiatives?
I can see someone in the uaa also being bought off
