There will be teams below .500 in the SEC that still make noise in the post season. The SEC is too stacked to make that a requirement for post season play. LSU went 13-17 in 2021 and they promptly went out to Oregon and won the regional as a 3 seed. By the way they started the SEC season off 1-8 after the first 3 series.

Also they seem to have a much tougher 1st half of the schedule compared to the 2nd half.

Agreed. Assuming their RPI stays right 13 is probably the minimum.
