This was presented like a mistake....a one time thing....I am glad they took that asswhipping.and got their woke selves sent home. LINK

quote:
LSU Coach Kim Mulkey said her team didn't "intentionally" leave the floor prior to the playing of the National Anthem

Framed like it was a one-time mistake
Chessa Bouche: "LSU is never on the court for the National Anthem"
Who is lying?
@ChessaBouche

Lying about it isn't helping Coach.

**READ CAREFULLY**

I was the PA announcer for LSU Women’s Basketball from 2015-2021. And announced other women’s sports at LSU from my senior year in 2010 through 2021 when I moved to Florida. I announced hundreds of games in various sports throughout that 11 year span.

First and foremost, I can tell you that the LSU Women’s basketball team did not “leave” or “walk off” because of the national anthem.

Like many teams, their warm-up drills & timing for pregame are predetermined and arranged by the onsite game officials and mainly the show runners for the networks.

In many instances, one or BOTH teams will be in locker room when the anthem plays and will then run out after the anthem. A lot of times, that has to do with who is being introduced second by the announcer in the arena. This narrative that LSU dodged the anthem is completely false. If anyone thinks Mulkey would allow that, they’re nuts.

(Last year, at the national championship game in Dallas, neither LSU or Iowa was on the court for the anthem)… As was the case with the other elite eight game on Monday night between USC vs. UConn.

The video of the National Anthem simply featuring Iowa’s team was originally posted by a little known “reporter” for a questionably reputable media organization called “Outkick”. Outkick repeatedly posted less than professional comments about LSU throughout the game.

(See screenshots in comments)
Once this video was picked up by fans, the narrative that LSU dodged the national anthem spread like wildfire to reinforce a lot of people’s dislike of Kim Mulkey, Angel Reese, and LSU. Once the video spread and went viral, larger media organizations picked it up without ever looking into the procedures of how pre-game operations truly work.

The national narrative that LSU conducted an Anthem Protest is a complete drummed up lie.

You can dislike LSU for their swagger/villian mentality, or for the supposed controversies surrounding Kim Mulkey…But LSU did NOT exercise an Anthem Protest.
