2005 - Alabama fans stab five Auburn fraternity kids on old row on Iron Bowl. When the case goes to trial, the Alabama fans conned/paid off a mentally slow friend to take the blame but the judge sniffed it out.

Auburn AL – A mistrial was declared in the case of a Mobile man charged with stabbing Auburn University students on the eve of last year's Iron Bowl. Witnesses say five people were stabbed occurred outside a fraternity house after a group of people became loud and shouted, ``Roll Tide'' . The mistrial was declared yesterday after a witness the defense promised would confess to the stabbings decided not to testify yesterday. Defense Attorney John Williams said in his opening statements that Louie Lotz would confess to the crime, and that would prove his client Joey Michael Barrett Junior was innocent. However, Judge Jacob Walker interviewed the Lotz without the jury present and discovered the witness was mentally retarded and had not consulted an attorney. When Walker assigned two attorneys to Lotz, he decided not to testify. A prosecutor asked for a mistrial, contending the jury had been prejudiced. The judge granted the motion.

Thank you, sir. I have added this contribution to the OP.

It seems like this particular Alabama fan didn't stay out of trouble either:

MOBILE, AL (WALA) — FOX10 News uncovered new information about a man arrested after a brutal beatdown on Dauphin Island.
Joey Barrett Jr. is accused of attacking four people in a food truck line with a knife and brass knuckles.
According to court documents, he’s already served jail time for a similar crime.
In 2005 he pleaded guilty and served 18 months in jail for inciting a brawl at an Auburn University fraternity house by yelling Roll Tide.
Reports said the then 22-year-old stabbed three Auburn University students. Court documents said one of the victims suffered a punctured lung.
Court documents also said Barrett tried to bribe a man with mental disabilities to take the fall for the assault charges
According to jail records Barrett has been in Metro 10 times since 2002.
Barrett’s attorney, Jeff Deen, told FOX10 News about the case on Dauphin Island, “Don’t believe everything you hear. There’s three sides to every pancake.”
