quote:

Making a title game and losing in it should not be worth two separate Final Fours.

Making a title game and losing in it should not be worth 32 individual seasons of making the NCAA Tournament.

A National Title is highly valuable, but should a team that’s never made the Tournament ever in their history make a National Title Run in one single season… should that be weighted the same as a program who’s made the Tournament 64 seasons in a row?

At some point, logic has to be used.

I mean sure, that's fine, but use that same logic to determine that there is a middle ground.

ETA: Actually, I don't think that's fine. If I'm a fan of a school, give me one national championship over losing in the first round of the tournament 64 straight years, please. That would be absolute misery.

I get your argument for valuing the Final Four higher.

But you're still giving the same amount of additional points for playing in the national championship game as you are for playing in the Elite 8. That's not very logical. Winning a final 4 game is WAY HARDER than winning a Sweet 16 game probably 95% of the time.

It's clear to me that a runner-up should receive 13.67 points. Repeating, of course.

The premise of the thread is silly anyhow. You've got UK, then a giant gap, then Arkansas and UF, then everyone else.
