I can't hold back anymore....while I appreciate what the man did for us, Dye is ancient! He hasn’t been coach or AD there for 16 years, and he is still roaming the halls and attending press conferences? I think he is a wart, despite all the good he has done. He and Jacobs make us look like the stereotypical good-ol boy network. I do not like the way Jacobs manages our athletic department - he may be a nice guy, but I am fumed.
When he announced at the press conference 2 weeks ago that he started his final meeting with TT with a word of prayer, I lost it. WTF??? How odd is that to say??!! I am not dissing anyone's religion or spirituality, but that is NOT relevant, especially given the speculation around the true story and what REALLY happened. And even now he is still feeding everyone that BS about TT resigning????? AND denying that he spoke with Dye last weekend before offering Chizik???? Holy crap - it is so painful when decisions are made that piss you off yet you have no control over them!!

Another factor to consider is that Dye was at the helm when Auburn was put on probation for players getting money from coaches and boosters as an incentive program for good play. Where else would someone with that albatross be allowed to represent the university in such a high profile manner?

You have a point.

I agree and that pissed me off too. Religion has no place here. It is bad enough that you start a meeting like this out like that, but 10x worse that you announce it.

Total bullshite. Dye had plenty of input here. His picks were Johnson and Chizik. I believe that we did not go through the backchannels and rely on agents or 3rd parties, but I do not really care whether we did or did not. This holier than thou stuff is bullshite. If that is how business is done today, we are at a competitive disadvantage in a hugely important decision and if you are that incompetent that you put yourself in that type of situation, you should not be in a position of power.
