You forget, Dye was AD at Auburn the last few years that he was coaching as well. Not that it makes much of a difference, but if you are giving Broyles and Dooley a pass for being AD, you need to factor that in with Dye as well.

Pat Dye is an Auburn man. He loves Auburn, always will, and simply wants the best for Auburn. He was not ready to go when he did and it showed when he left. I for one am very glad to have him around and will always appreciate him for what he did for the program and his continued loyalty and desire to be involved and try to help to the best of his ability.

Not so much giving them a pass....but Housel took over in 94! Dooley and Broyles were around until a couple of years ago.

Not trying to incite a riot - I was in school during Dye's great run. He clearly was key in resurrecting the program to compete with Bama year in and year out after such a long drought.
