This is where the confusion comes from, what makes them different from Tenn? 1 Covid championship (and a while much larger) a stadium that seats about 12k? Can’t imagine Tenn doesn’t have the funding to catch up with states facilities in about 4-5 years time if it cared to
That’s the thing, renovations are already in progress on the stadium and the player training areas. Capacity is already at 5,500 this year and will be around 8,000. All at the request of Tony V. And also it’s not in Starkville Mississippi.
Tony Vitello didn't build it, but renovated Lindsey Nelson Stadium was Tennessee coach's vision

Starkville Mississippi.
Has always been an attraction for baseball recruits. Before NIL, recruits would come and shut it down during the visit.

Knoxville is a much better place to live than Starkville. Matter of fact, Tennessee is just better overall than Mississippi altogether.
