The man is retired. Literally nothing he says now is to his own benefit. He doesn't have to speak at all.

He's up there speaking for the sport and for those who are still coaching.

And people like you are too much of a butthurt bitch to recognize it.

That is absurd. Saban has chosen to be an employee of the largest publicity machine for college football, and he has a personal vested interest in promoting the system that he was so successful in because that makes him look good and makes him “right”.

I am not a Saban hater. He was absolutely the best college football coach of the last 20 years and it is not close. He had an excellent process that exploited a system that was funneling millions and billions of dollars to coaches and administrators while depriving players of the money the market said they were worth. Another positive about Saban is that I believe he genuinely worked hard to instill the best possible habits of hard work and discipline in his players and coaches. So if you put that all together he was a singularly great coach that was exploiting a flawed system.

Does that mean we should listen to him when he describes problems in how things are changing in college football? Maybe, or maybe not. Could it be he has blinders on about the best system for college football……?
