well I'm wrong - ETA: looked at Google street - the "riverwalk" is not as developed as I imagined it would be. I lived there years ago, and just assumed that brick and mortar would have made it's way towards the bank by now, but it has not. So yeah, he could have leaped over the barrier and tried to toy with walking on dirt and grass to the edge.

I mean if we're being honest and put ourselves in that situation, we might also be looking for a spot off the beaten path to pee, puke, or pass out.

He looks pretty lit, so all three may be in play.
