I enjoyed the French people and culture when I went to Paris last year. Sure, they can be a little snooty and curt. But we have some important things in common. We share a love of Liberty, and we share a history of violent revolution against a tyrannical monarchy. I’d say that makes them valuable allies, particularly in todays world of Globalism and a push for a One World Government. We need more countries like France in the world, not less.

As for WWII, Germany was a juggernaut. Hard to blame the French for getting steamrolled. Had England been connected to the European mainland, they would’ve gotten fricked too. The Belgians and Dutch got taken extremely quickly but we don’t consider them to be pussies. It took 2 of the biggest countries in the world, the US and Russia, teaming up to defeat the Germans.

I think a lot of the contemporary hate towards the French stems from their disapproval of the US invasion of Iraq after 9/11. Remember “Freedom Fries”? A lot of people in the US got worked up into a lather about France by the media. In hindsight, it’s clear that the French were correct that our invasion of Iraq was a dumb idea.
