It's all about the money. If things work out for him, he'll be making millions. His agents have probably told him he could even negotiate a separate deal with EA.

Personally I think that's shortsighted, but I do see the reasoning. Others have done such things and it admittedly has worked out... for some....

This opt out is stupid. He’s a back up to a Heisman front runner. Unless Ewers gets hurt, Arch is the mop up guy this year. EA said the players will have to opt in every year. There is no reason Arch couldn’t opt in this year then negotiate next year.

This is just some narcissistic bullshite from the Manning family. “Focus on football” is code for bullshite. Getting a $600 check and a copy of a video game is really going to put him out I guess.
