No divisions is better. This way a team won't have an advantage due to a weak division. Before Georgia became elite, the SEC East was a joke (still kind of is except for UGA but is better overall). You had mediocre Missouri and Florida teams winning the east division. No reason the 3rd or 4th best team in the conference should be playing for the SEC title just because their division is weak. This should make it more likely the two best teams in the conference are playing for the title.
