it was the holder, Fitzgerald. And to act like Saban saying a fake play being a read call is just BS is well....
I said holder and Saban was quick to point out it was the holder's call. Bad call from the sidelines and lame to pin it on the holder.

If we are going to bring in Saban to this thread for some reason, I think the dumbest decision he made was to stick with Josh Booty over Rohan.

Did he do that? I thought Booty was gone when he came. I definitely could be wrong though.

Oh I'm sorry. I'm sure Florida was definitely expecting this guy to kick this 50-yard FG after missing a 30 something yarder earlier that year (his only FG) and missing the only XP he kicked all year.

No, Booty was our primary QB in 2000.

Thanks for setting me straight!

"pin it on the holder"...?? We are all clear on what a "read" is right? You "READ" the alignment of the defense at the line of scrimmage and call the appropriate play. The "READ" option, for example. Not exactly something you can call in from the sideline, a'la Auburn's "Meerkat manor" offense, without giving away that you might be doing something other than a straight up field goal try.

So you actually checked the stats before making a comment this time? It would be more impressive if you didn't have to be called out for wrong facts first, but an improvement nonetheless.
Now fact check that Tiffin wasn't available to kick or be out there for the fake after being injured earlier in the game. So Smith HAD to be sent in regardless.

Let me tell you, HUGE difference it makes missing an XP and missing a short FG makes in it
Clearly Florida was faked out big time!

Yes, he was hurt so bad he kicked the ball off and kicked a FG just moments before this fake FG was called. Not to mention came right back out the next time Bama kicked and did the kickoff and the extra point (and the rest of the kicking duties from that point on). Let's try and be a little less naive here.

I thought this was kind of funny as well. A classic Saban move.

Tiffin got a mild concussion on the kickoff before that fake FG. He came back in the 2nd half after the medical staff cleared him.

Of course I do. You are getting balled up in semantics and missing the point,or pretending to miss the point. When someone besides Tiffin (regardless of reason) came out for "an attempt" from that range--no one in the stadium or watching on tv thought it would be a kick.Call, read, whatever, it was a very poor decision by the Alabama staff.

Its probably not a good decision to buy a trophy case if you have nothing to put in them. You could save money and buy a couple more players.

Sounds like you're also falling for another Saban excuse.

So, let's see all of what you won this decade.
SEC West Champs x 1
Shreveport Champs x 2
Cotton Bowl Champs x 1
Nice trophy case there.

Not at all. In fact, it seems like you are missing the point, or choosing not to think about the situation enough to get it.
Saban spelled it out in the post game presser, if the read for the fake was there, take it. If not, kick the ball, since we either get three points or Florida takes over in field position worse than what they ended up with anyway.
The reason I'm asking if everyone is clear on the meaning of the words and to be clear on what we're talking about is that I can't imagine why this is so hard for everyone to grasp?

I can understand how LSU fans think trophies and trophy cases were invented in the last decade, but in fact they've been around much, MUCH longer...
