If you really want to stop the storming the court/field, the only way is to impose a forfeit on the winning team. Kids don't care if the University has to pay a $100,000 fine, but they would care about a win changed to a loss.

Meh that was a pretty weak court storming if we are being honest. Didn't really get out of control. The Duke one was a madhouse not really even the same thing

I don't disagree that there are ways that you can make it safer for opposing players (like you said LSU did a good job of that).

But I find it hilarious that there's this big to do about it this year because of Clark at Iowa and now the player at Duke when Darius Miller just about got trampled to death by Indiana fans in Assembly Hall when they beat us during the regular season in 2012. Cal complained about it then and was absolutely roasted by some of the same media that are pearl-clutching over it today.

So many if your proposal were to be in place, coaches will start instructing players to seek out “an incident” with opposing fans storming the court.

You nailed it. The media celebrated IU storming the court. Cal’s solution was to not play home and home and when IU turned that down it ended the series.

People are going to react emotionally. LSU did a good job handling it. So did Reed Shepherd. He saved MSU $100,000. That is the way to stop it.
