While the article is BS, aggy did fulfill their role and open up Texas to SEC recruiting (more than before) so why wouldn't the Big10 try to grab a Texas school? The other choices aren't great..Texas Tech is located too far away from the most fertile recruiting grounds, may as well be in Oklahoma or NM. TCU, Baylor and SMU are all either religious based schools or formerly so, and none would add anything other than a recruiting foothold. Houston is referred to as "Cougar high" for a reason, but the only thing they would add is opening up the Houston area a bit. aggy is by default the only one they'd take since Texas isn't going to. Sure we'd be the best fit culture wise of any of the Texas schools, but no thank you to that all 4 timezone travel schedule...especially for the non-revenue Olympic sports. That's like Hawaii deciding to join the ACC level of insanity.
