How many top 10 classes has Michigan had the last 5 years? And didn’t they just win the national championship?

If they do, why the frick have their recruiting classes averaged ranked 6th in the conference since NIL became a thing?

Because we were dealing with the NCAA with a million level 1 violations from that turd Pruitt?

What are you 12?

You don’t believe Tennessee has finished recruiting ahead Bama, etc? It’s like you lack the cognitive ability to actually do a couple minutes of research. It’s truly an indictment on our failed educational system. But I digress.

Yes the Vols figured out the NIL with Spyre on the cutting edge.

Does your coaching staff suck that bad, or are your boosters that inept? Which is it?

Staff has been there 3 years and that was with an NCAA cloud over the program. That’s cleared, we have the program, the funds, and the will to go get what we want

And a big thank you to Bama for committing to their new staff. Removing Saban was worth the NCAA fight.

Level 1 violations stemming from handing out bags of cash - and still somehow unable to finish better than 4th place in your own conference in recruiting during that stretch.

How are the UT fans on this board so fricking stupid? Did you read the post you quoted? When is the last time UT finished ahead of Alabama in recruiting, and what is the contextual timeline of this thread and of the post you were responding to?

Here’s some research for you: Per the industry composite rankings, UT hasn’t led the conference in recruiting in two decades, and in that timespan, they’ve finished better than 4th in their own conference twice - signing 30+ players in both of those years.

But yeah.

It was that big bad NCAA holding you back all those years - with all that rule following you were doing while other teams cheated. Now that those guys are gone? Well look out!

Or something like that.

He's dumb as a rock. The typical GUMP.

He's even dumber than that captdalton goober who thinks kids get all their NIL cash upfront, then can just leave and not 'pay it back'.

We're dealing with really stupid people here.

Will the NCAA announce that they are closing the investigation into UT, or will they claim that there never was one?

I'm guessing they go with option 2.

I think NCAA has gone too far to come back from their errors but what they should've done is said, "ok those first few years when we told y'all to follow the laws of your state and didn't regulate? well, we're going to forget about that. But now starting on X date, we're going to come up with rules for NIL that we can all agree on."

If they'd done that I think they could've survived all this but they keep digging in and refusing to acknowledge that NIL changed things and that they can't undo those years they went running to congress hoping to be bailed out. They need to move forward but they won't.

That has been the problem as the NCAA for so many years have just watched as this came about. Now all they are trying to do is hold on and have selected a few programs they might be able to target to make an example of.

The battle between amateurism and professionalism in CFB and CBB is over. The sports I grew up watching no longer exist.

Organization has always been terrible, I don’t like where CFB is headed but still glad to see them held accountable. They had an opportunity to implement revenue sharing above board but decided to go down with the ship instead.

Revenue sharing would have been the first step to where we are heading now. The NCAA trying to hold fast on amateurism only accelerated everything.

Maybe if they'd been more fair and honest with enforcement they would have had more support.

But the corrupt system that were overseeing, where they enforced rules on all but a select few programs, made the other 99 percent of programs decide to sit it out and eat popcorn while they watched them twist in the wind.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

This was all about Georgia trying to pull a dirty trick to get Nico declared ineligible and UT on probation.

There is a reason that they came after UT just a few months after they proclaimed we were the model other universities should follow when dealing with NCAA.

Jere Morehead used his NCAA position to come after us. This won't make it to trial, as they do not want discovery. The discovery trail will lead to Athens, GA, Jere Morehead, and Bowl Cut.

They thought we would roll over. Didn't happen.

Got to give them credit, though: after the last twenty five years the odds were in their favor.

You might start worrying about Sunbelt Billy.

UGA hates Florida, but they knew you were no threat in the forseeable future.
