But unfortunately most people outside the state don’t know how to cook it.

The best brisket I have ever had was in Mississippi. I have been all over Texas at too many different barbecue joints to remember. All that Texas has going for it is they have a lot more places that sell shitty, tough, dry brisket than any other state. If that is how you are supposed to cook it, you can keep it.

Good brisket is excellent. It is also rare to find in a restaurant.

One thing I will give Texans is that they are easy to please, because they will rave about how great the food is somewhere when in fact it is barely fit for the strays out by the dumpsters.

Some Arkansas and Texas politicians had a friendly competition on which state had the better cheese dip.

The taste testers tried both but weren't told which one was Texas or Arkansas cheese dip.

Arkansas won the competition but oh boy a simple Google search revealed some articles that couldn't fathom losing to a place like Arkansas. These writers seemed pretty pissed over a friendly competition that really wasn't that big of deal.
