Harbaugh left Jan 24th. Chip Kelly left Feb 12th.

Both were likely too late for players to make transfers without complicating transfers due to classes already having started and passed their drop/add deadline. Mich was Jan 23rd, UCLA was Jan 19th.

Mich lost a lot to NFL/graduation, and promoted from within

UCLA has less talent relative to Bama, and Chip Kelly leaving UCLA is not even remotely the same as Nick Saban leaving Alabama

That’s not exactly true about the dates and enrolling at new schools. Keon Sabb and Josh Cuevas didn’t enroll until February at UA. Pretty sure either the UA president or chancellor can grant waivers to the enrollment deadline, hence the February enrollment.
