We are burying my mother this weekend. She spent her remaining decade or so of life pining away for that job and saying that if she could only get well, she could go back to work, not listening to her family’s admonitions that the only cure for her ailment was six feet of dirt. It’s easy to say someone should be given the chance to go out on their own terms. Some people just can’t go out without a push. Trust me, I’ve lived it.
