A friend of mine's husband is a basketball assistant at a group of five school and she stated last signing period a couple of incoming players informed the coaches that their plan was to sign with their school, but they were hoping to play well and sign a big NIL deal with a larger school. She stated one of those players is having a great season and her husband is frustrated because they already know they're going to lose him and there's nothing they can do about it!

Don't you just love the transfer portal and NIL!

As T-Bob (everyone's favorite) stated this morning, this is a sign of a healthy market. Guys that rise to the top of their level get the opportunity to cash in and play on a bigger stage.

He also mentioned Miami of Ohio's FB coach is leaning into this part. He says he's getting recruits from Ohio that typically would go to Purdue or Pitt to come to Miami of Ohio because he is selling that if they play well for him, they can get bigger opportunities 2-3 years down the road.
