Everyone loves hyperbole and pining for the old days now and then, but how the hell is "the game we know dead."

you obviously alreayd know the answer to this if you've been paying any attnetion. Just for starters:

-Mega super conferences based solely on money and nothing about regionality.
-Players being able to freely transfer whenever they want to whererver they want with no repercussions
-Players getting paid with essenetially zero restrictions. Recrutis getting paid. Having to re-recruit and repay your entire roster every season to avoid them leaving due to the bullet point above
-Expanded playoffs where 3 or even 4 loss teams will now get a chance to be a national champion, essentilaly rendering the regular season virtually worthless

And I'm sure many more items I'm forgetting for now. We can go round and round all we want but it is an undeniable, indisputable FACT that these are no longer "amateur student athletes" in the way that they've been since the 1800s. These are now paid professionals so yeah, the fundamental foundation of the sport is now completely changed.

How is a game experience at Sanford Stadium today any different than it was 10-20 years ago

For starters, the average joe probably aint gonna be in Sanford today nearly as much as 20 years ago. Prices have soared, although that's partially due to success so I get that and have no issue with it. 5-10 years ago there were what, probably liek 100 Magill society members? Now it's probably into the thousands. 10 years aog there may have been a dozen silver circle members, now it's probably into the hundreds. If you aren't already fortunte and lucky enough to have renwable season tickets you essentailly now have no chance and shouldn't even bother. Away games are an even worse venture. You have to have over 125K Points to even ASK for tickets to Texas and bama games this year, and if/when you are lucky enough to receive them you will be in the very last row of the very upper deck.

There's also a difference in the dudes we're watching on the field wearing the jersey. 20 years ago as you metnioend, you still had A LOT of guys that came here because they loved the G, or Athens, or grew up dawgs fans, whatever. Now you still have that SOME but you have an exponentially higher number of hired mercenaries that are ONLY here because of how mcuh we were allowd to pay them. I love UGA so will obviously continue watching but it's a whole different set of guys on the field these days. I'ts harder to really get attached to guys this way, which may or may not be an issue for some I'm jsut pointing it out.

Aside from some of our Rudies and other walk-ons, I just don't think that this is true. 90-whatever percent of our scholarship players 20 years ago grew up dreaming of playing in the NFL and just viewed college football as a pitstop. Same as today.

Even the lowest 3 star players come in as freshmen thinking that they'll play in the NFL one day, just because they were such bad asses in high school and so many people have told them that they will play in the NFL one day.
