And I wasn’t trying to derail the thread. I just can’t look out past two years right now as it seems inevitable the entire landscape is about to dramatically change. Collective bargaining, players as employees, salary caps, drafts, etc.

my first thought was “beacuse back then it wasn’t the NFL”
serious question: why do we need “a new pro league”, and what makes anyone think it will be better than the existing one?
