The rules regarding boosters are not new, and they aren't "old" as in they were no longer in effect. They never got rid of those rules, nor was anyone ever told they were gone.

I told people on this forum years ago that boosters being involved in NIL collectives was going to be an infraction, and that it was already against the rules.

I just don't know what took the NCAA so long to start enforcing the rules, or why they are being so selective. A&M should have been one of the first to get hit with this.

Now here is Tennessee crying because they can't use the NIL as a scheme for pay to play. Trying to play ignorant, and yet in this statement from Danny White, he basically admits guilt, only blaming the rules for it.

Finally the NCAA is attempting to reign these things in, I just hope it's not a matter of too little, too late.

As bad a con man as Jimbo IS he knew to call foul when Saban called him out on it...deflect, deny, lie, NEVER confess and no matter how red-handed you are act as if you did nothing at all wrong. It works almost every time if you have the money (ATM does) and the connections (ATM does). Unfortunately for Tennessee they are a real program with a real AD...they don't have a con man running the show who understands that when you break the law it makes no matter if it is a big one or a little one...always maintain you did not. UT took the high road last time around, as they should have ethically, but logistically Jimbo knew all along if you lie long enough it will eventually become the truth. Sounds like UT is adapting that strategy but it may be too little too late.

The entire premise of NIL is dishonest. If what you say is true, then why did the NCAA pass a rule allowing athletic departments to partner with collectives?

On paper NIL may be classified as “advertising revenue”, but it’s literally facilitated by schools & only provided to athletes.

This shite just keeps getting funnier.

Collectives based upon donations either need to be completely illegal, or NCAA needs to admit it’s just paying players & share revenue so it can be controlled.

There is an infrastructure in place with these collectives & that is not just going to disappear. NCAA must go.
