Single elimination format.
I like the single elimination, avoids burning up pitching before regionals.

Terrible decision if true.

I don’t care for the tournament at all so single elimination is fine with me. A few years ago we lost one of our best hitters due to an ankle injury in a meaningless game in that tournament.
Most of the teams have played one another anyway and the conference champion has already been decided.

Terrible idea. The conference tourney should be to help bubble teams get a couple wins to get in and then get everyone ready for regionals. A single game early in the week fails to do that.
We should do a pool play then a 4 team single elimination final.

Have mixed feelings because this tournament is almost perfect. Starts at single, then goes to 8-team double elimination, then back to single.
The worst aspect is the inviting all 16 teams. It is always fun seeing a few teams fighting to at least make the conference tourney.
The positive:
-When a national seed just wants to go home and prep for regional, but they have to take 2 loses to go.
-When a team just needs “one more SEC win” to get into the regionals but then they have to take 2 more losses because the win for them into the double-elimination portion.
