. Glad he got picked up bc they still say he’s a risk hire. The SEC was his shot.

Good hire Auburn.. If he coaches LBs, expect that unit to improve.

Other than the lingering PR disaster from Maryland, he's a decent pickup

Rev Freeze needs to get him right on actually putting 5 star DL's in the game.

Auburn hired Freeze but is going to care about that? Nah.

I'm not saying they would (or frankly, most SEC schools). I'm just saying that he's a good hire, little downside overall.

I hope so for y'all's sake. Fantastic recruiter and position coach, but he's the single worst DC I've ever seen in my life. He had 290 lb DE Mario Edwards in 2014 covering wheel routes on a RB. I'll never forget the shock and silence of taking a top 3 defense in 2013 to 64th in 2014 with NFL players 3 deep. Rant over

Funny how Auburn is in their worst stretch of football years. Meanwhile Ole Piss is I. Their best and now they think this is a rivalry. Yall have won what 11 out of 46 games against Auburn?

Nah. That would be Bama, USC, and Tennessee's. Then whoever else as soon as he goes back to a real program or sec gets back to more than 2 or 3 decent teams.

He isn’t the DJ Durkin from his Florida days. Statistically, there wasn’t much difference between Auburn’s defense last year and A&M’s and that team was loaded with defensive talent. A&M went from 3rd nationally to 30th in pts allowed after Durkin was hired. Last year A&M dropped to 35th in pts allowed per game. Is he terrible? No, but it really isn’t much of an improvement over what Auburn had.

Interviewed with Nick Saban before he retired, and was actually hired by Nick Saban at Alabama in 2018 after he was let go at Maryland.

You’ll have to excuse it. It is not very intelligent.

Medium hire. He isn't a homerun but they could have done a lot worse.
