The main reason we all hope he goes is because we think it would be funny for it to happen to LSU. No one is scared of him. He's a pretty good coach but thus far in his 20+ years of coaching hasn't ever been a threat to the truly elite and that's just a fact. Whether you like it or not.

Bama is different because they've been so dominant.
But in general I think most of us would concede LSU is a good job and a turnip could probably win 9 games at LSU. Nobody is particularly scared of Brian Kelly and I don't think any fan base on this board is particularly jealous of LSU having him. He'll probably continue to do good to very good for LSU, but so will most LSU hires.
But, Kelly leaving would frustrate LSU and turnover often means setbacks. Which all of us would enjoy, though none of us expect it to actually happen.

This has less to do with how good anyone outside of LSU thinks he is and everything to do with the meltdown that would follow.

No one is scared of a coach that has averaged 3 losses a year for his entire career as a D1 coach.

Doesn’t mean he is a good coach. People are tired of his southern accent and grinding on teenagers. Heck, I hope he stays at LSU. Georgia laid 50 on his team. Barely worked up a sweat doing it too.
