They dont have to be anywhere near as good since our team will no longer be scoring 24 PPG.

Bama averaged nearly 34 PPG last year, not 24 PPG. Even for SEC, we averaged 32 PPG.
I'm hopeful an almost complete change of coaching staff goes well for us. We'll have talent (although few superstars, compared to what we've grown accustomed to), and the new coaches seem capable. I won't be surprised, though, and denigrate Coach DeBoer, if there are some bumps. There's a lot to sort out, and the schedule will be brutal. DeBoer does seem to have a track record of early success at every place he's been, though. That's encouraging.

You have to remove Middle Tenn, Chatta, LSU. (hilarious they were so bad defensively that they are lumped in with these guys)

We scored under 30 points in almost every game this season especially the big ones.

Also, points scored were off of busted plays, and homeruns, rarely did we sustain long methodical drives that made you feel we were running an effective offense. IMO it was awful. I actually thought it was worse than BoB - the offense had no identity, nothing to hang their hat on.

I guarantee you DeBear will have this offense running much better in year 1 than what you saw last season. A salt shaker could call a better game than Rees

We had a very high floor on offense pretty much regardless of how good the defense we were facing was. We just simply did not have it in us to not piss away at least 3 promising drives every game

Here's the biggest stat to me:

We're getting an OC and OL coach that were 5th in the country in sacks allowed with 0.8 per game. We were 120th, with 3.5 per game.

And now we've added the center from that OL. It all starts with the guy who starts every play with the ball in his hands...as we were so painfully reminded all last year.

We'd had an embarrassment of riches at the position for 15 years, as this article points out. And then it went to shite. Now we're getting one of the best again.
