Good for him to find a new job in the NFL. The work he did down the line was admirable.

I've seen bama fans shitting all over Tommy recently. It's weird to me. I thought he did a pretty good job after the USF game.

Me too. However some of our fanbase do tend to have unrealistic expectations due to our success in the past.

I'm glad we got him off our payroll

Good for him, hope he kills it. He worked his arse off for us this year.

I have to wonder how much of the playbook was off limits by our inability to reliably snap the ball.

And our inability to pass to every part of the field
I remember when the anti-Daboll parade was on with Hurts, felt the exact same this year

It was known that Tommy had to slim down the playbook. I obviously prefer Grubb, but admire what Tommy did with a center who couldn’t snap and a QB still improving his ability to pass to all levels

Oof...good move there.. He really sucked as an oc. Nobody came knocking on his door for that position.

Nobody came knocking on his door because open spots for offensive coordinators were hired over a month before Saban retired.
The only spot Rees could’ve gone was LSU, but he didn’t follow Kelly in the first place because he wanted autonomy and not Kelly overruling him on everything

quote:I think he was ok, but I didn't really see how it took him so long to figure out to run Jalen, and then we stopped doing it at the most crucial time. With Jalen at his processing level last year, every play should have consisted of deep routes stretching the field and stressing the safeties, crossers and outbreaking routes drawing defenders out of the middle and spreading things out, and then Jalen with one or at most 2 reads and if it's not there, or the pocket of failing, step up and take off. Every single play, you vary the routes, the motions, etc, get creative, but trying to make milroe a pocket passer for half the year with an oline that couldn't block a kitten off the edge is nearly unforgivable. And that's on the OC. He had the patter right there in front of him with what LSU was doing and he never really committed to that.

I think Rees worked very hard to do a good job last season. I wish him well.

I think it had more to do with QB than center. You have to be able to make calls

What will folks say next year, if milroe starts (and not someone else) and balls out? Will you then see how bad Rees was?

And what if he looks the same? Are you going to eat crow?

He did hell of a job. Hell continue to grow and get better and be more polished OC. Hell do well in coming years whether it's in NFL or college. He gets nothing but love from me

Thank God Rees is gone. Horrible offenses follow him everywhere he goes. Hope we never see him at UA again.

Then Jalen made great progress in the offseason and Grubb is who we thought he was.
