averaged 6.5 wins per year since 2009

you suck at math..

Texas
103 Wins 2010-2023 (14 years)
Average = 7.35 wins per year

Texas A&M
548 Wins 1940-2023 (84 years)
Average = 6.52 wins per year

Why did I pick these years? Simple.
This was both teams last NC or NCG Appearance.

Incoming we won 8 games per year during the last 14 years.. but they will fail to mention that 3+ wins are against G5 or FCS teams each year.

Bottom line: Both teams have mostly sucked since our last NC or NCG appearance.. one just happens to be a long long long long long long long long long long long long long long time ago.. and the other was closer to the Civil War than it is today..

Ok? This is just a suggestion but perhaps both Texas and Texas A&M should stop talking so much about how much money they have and learn to win consistently on the field. We have both been humbled quite a bit over the last several years. Just shut the frick up and win.

Aggy has a lot of money because they don’t need to hire a cleaning service for their “Hall of Champions”.

So why would an AD leave a program with the most available resources?

ETA: multiple AD’s

A: because they NEVER win anything of importance.. and they have NEVER even made the Championship Game in any of the Big 3 Sports.

But I have been told that next year is their year..

Money is not everything. A&M has lost three in a row to Ole Miss who has a minuscule budget compared to A&M.

At least Texas is heading in the right direction. A&M is lost and acts like the US government. You think you can just spend your way into competence. It has never happened for the government and hasn’t happened for A&M yet.

Congrats to aTm on their 1-2 year inflated revenue numbers due to capital improvements, like Oregon a few years ago

but as the article states, Texas is #1 in pure revenue

"So, for now — with many other schools yet to release their 2023 financial reports — Texas’ total stands as the largest single-year total, not adjusting for inflation, since the NCAA began its current financial reporting system in 2005. Ohio State reported $251.6 million in 2022. (Oregon reported $391.8 million in 2020, but that included more than $270 million as a contribution for the renovation of its track and field stadium.)"

Also for 2023, Texas A&M reported $12 million in direct institutional support in 2023, the first time since 2014 that it has shown any help for athletics. However, the athletics department's chief financial officer, Jeff Toole, said this was a loan by the university from non-taxpayer funds to assist with another facility project — and it will be repaid by the athletics department.

Texas athletics director Chris Del Conte cited no such anomalies in an interview this week about his department's 2023 total, saying the biggest reasons for the increase in his department’s revenue were the school’s first year in its new arena, the Moody Center, “an incredible job by our development team” in restricted and unrestricted gifts and the first year of a new local multimedia and marketing rights agreement with Learfield.

from the link in OP..

Texas A&M. Revenue

stronghorns were posting about their $271 million. Somebody needs to remind them they are entering the big boy league.

Of course its all funny money moving from one account to another.
aggy gonna aggy ...

Once again, A&M continues to confuse revenue with fund raising, counting $53 Million from capital contributions as revenue (by that metric Texas could add $130 Million for the Moody Foundation's contribution alone.)

A&M athletics also received a $12 Million loan from the university to "assist with another facility project."

Just those 2 anomalies (wink-wink) account for $65 million (23%) of A&M's "revenue."

Texas had no such anomalies ...

From the Article ...
quote:

However, Texas A&M is attributing $53.2 million of its $115.4 million in contributions for the year to an unusual level of spending during the year on a series of facilities projects. This is similar to Texas A&M's reporting over years in which it paid for the $485 million (which A&M erroneously reported as revenue)redevelopment of its football stadium and other projects across several years, beginning with its 2015 fiscal year.

Isnt it embarrassing that the school you couldn’t get into made $8 million less but accomplished so much more?
